Mainstreaming Environment into Humanitarian Action

One of the larger problems with emergency relief and sustainable energy solutions, is the lack of cooperation, reporting and monitoring of tested technologies and strategies within and between the agencies. UNEP is trying to tackle this through their programme “Mainstreaming Environment into Humanitarian Action”

In order to have a possibility of developing the products they need, my first thought is that there needs to be some strategy also on product development, parallell with developing a preparedness strategy in vulnerable areas for how the humanitarian aid organizations should go about choosing the right technology.

Several developers have uttered to me the lack of will from humanitarian actors to include them at a user specification and concept stage.
