Thank you to everyone for your collaboration and input, that led to the emergence of my Ph.D. dissertation “Framing humanitarian action through design thinking”. The defense will take place on the 27th of October and I hope to see many of you in Trondheim on that day.
The thesis explains a mixed-method research approach including participatory workshops, leading up to a framework for making sense of a complex stakeholder system. The novel understanding presented can lead to a more consistent and in the end, more sustainable humanitarian action where the introduced products and services can have a real and intended impact on humanitarian goals.
The work is particularly focused at integrating refugee needs into the larger system of stakeholder agendas present within the humanitarian market. The suggested framework will be useful for designers, innovators, private enterprises, donors, public actors and humanitarian agencies working in humanitarian action.
The 27th of October I will defend the final outcome of my work through the defense that will take part at NTNU in Trondheim, Norway.
The defence will take place at 13:15 in Rådsalen in the main building of NTNU. (hovedbygget).
I hope to see you there!
Please send me an e-mail if you have any questions or if you would like an electronic copy of the thesis (it should be ready within a couple of weeks).
